With its pine trees and mesmerizing view, Lansdowne is a cantonment town and home to the Garhwal Rifles Regiment. It is 236 kms away from Delhi and the nearest railway station is Kotdwara where plenty of taxis are available to visit Lansdowne. Do stop by the beautiful route and wander into the pine trees field on the way. Best months to visit are from March to October. It is advisable to not visit from December to February due to extreme winters. There are various resorts along the way and budget hotels in the area which usually remain full during peak months, so prior booking is a must.

Tip-in- top point- This popular viewpoint is one of the highest points of the town which offers a breath-taking bird eye’s view over the entire region. As Lansdowne was inhabited by the Britishers, it has many quaint and beautiful churches including Saint Mary’s Church and St. John’s Church.
There are a number of temples inside the town too which are popular among tourists, including Kaleshwar temple which is oldest temple building of Lansdowne and is believed to be 500 years old, and Santoshi Mata Mandir. Tadkeshwar temple is also among the top attractions for people visitng Lansdowne though it is 38 kms away.
